Are Celebrity Endorsements Costing You?

Robert Kiyosaki is a great Author and businessman, but he has never built a downline himself.  Therefore, why would you trust a guy who has never had success in network marketing?  Donald Trump and Oprah are great business people, but they have never build a successful network marketing business.  Again, why would you trust anything they would have to say about our industry?  They have been successful in their businesses, but that doesn’t mean they could run a successful network marketing organization.  Great leaders, in our industry, need experience.  They need to have been in the trenches to understand what it takes to succeed in this business.  You can’t run an MLM like a regular corporation or it will eventually fail.

Today, many “so called” MLM companies are HIRING athletes, movie stars, and famous businessmen and woman to promote their products.  They hire Wall Street Executives to run their companies and most of these guys can’t even spell MLM!  Don’t be happy if your company is doing this because those famous people are being PAID to have their name connected to those products.  Guess where the money to pay them is coming from?  It is coming out of YOUR pocket.  YOU, as the distributor or affiliate, are paying for their name to be used.  How?  The company is taking money from the compensation plan; it’s that simple.  Any extra overhead a company has will ALWAYS come out of YOUR pocket.

The ONLY people you can trust in company leadership are people who have successfully built a business.  People who have built downlines and know what it’s like to be a distributor or affiliate are the ONLY people to be trusted.  People with integrity who have “been burnt” in the past and know what and what not to do.

Therefore don’t be suckered into ANY opportunity that uses famous people to promote their products.  These company executives are spending YOUR money.  You will work your tail off and not make the money you hoped for because large sums of money are being paid to those celebrities.

Another thing to watch out for is company’s that boast of a fancy headquarters, corporate jets, and huge call centers.  Do you know who is paying for all of that?  That’s right, it’s coming out of your pocket!  Rather look for a streamline organization that keeps corporate expenses low so affiliates can enjoy a better income.  The better the affiliates are paid, the harder they will work.  That makes it better for all parties concerned.

My advice, do your homework.  Look at the leadership and how they are spending the company’s money.  Are they famous, but never built a downline or are they using the endorsements of the famous to attract people into the business? I would move on until you find a company with good leadership and who has the affiliates best interests in view.  They are rare, but they ARE out there for I belong to one.
