A Call to Action

The ultimate test of faith is action.  Faith is the substance of things you HOPE for and the EVIDENCE of the things you do not see.  However faith by itself will not result in anything.  Faith requires action.

Many people claim to have the faith necessary to see their dreams become a reality, but never take consistent action to see the unseen become a reality.  When you have faith that what you desire will become your reality you will be required to take some action.

The Bible speaks of 4 men who wanted to see their lame friend healed.  They didn’t just believe.  They took action!  Actually, the action they took was crazy!  You see, the house where Jesus was staying was so crowded that there was no way for these men to get their friend to Him the conventional way.  So they lifted their friend to the rooftop and took a portion of the roof out and lowered their friend before Jesus.  The Bible then says that Jesus SAW their faith.  What did the Lord see?  ACTION!  He saw faith in action!  Based on their faith in action, Jesus healed the lame man.

The same applies to anything where faith is required.  You may have faith to become financially independent through your network marketing business, but without action, it most likely will not happen.  You need to take steps every day to see your dreams solidify.  In past articles, I refer to this action as the sleight edge.  Do something to demonstrate your faith day by day and eventually you will reach your dream.  It’s the little steps that add up to the big event.

Don’t fall for all the hype presented on the Internet today. If someone tells you that you can replace your income in 90 days, RUN!  Unless you are making $100 a month, that is. There are no automatic cash cows, at least in the beginning.  The income will be automatic, but only after applied faith, that is, action taken day by day until you get to the point that cash flows automatically with little or no effort.   That realistically will take 3-5 years, or more, depending on the action you take every day.

Do you have faith in something unseen?  If so, go to work; demonstrate your faith through works until you have the things you hope for. 

 

Stop Trying - Just Do It!

“I’ll try.”  How many times have you said it?  How many times have you heard other people say it?  What usually happens when you or others say, “I’ll try”?  Nothing!

If you treat your business with an “I’ll try” attitude I can pretty much assure you that you will fail.  It’s not those who “try” who succeed; it is those who “do.”  I don’t try to build my home-based business; I do it!  I made a decision long ago that I would become financially free and I work everyday to MAKE IT HAPPEN.  I have a burning desire and an attitude that I will succeed.  I choose to succeed!

Our industry is crowded with those who try.  They try this business and that business.  They try, try, try and as a result they fail, fail, fail!  When you decide to stop trying and start doing, your life will change.  Doer’s are the ones who succeed and make the world a better place.

Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Napoleon Hill, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and others didn’t try; they took action and achieved their goals by DOING.  Trier’s will continue as long as there are no obstacles, but doer’s will fight on despite the obstacles.  Doers know the principle of success.  Success comes to those who are willing to pay the price to do WHATEVER it takes despite what gets thrown in their way.  Trier’s see setbacks as a sign to stop.  Doer’s treat setbacks as a sign to charge forward. 

I am sure you have heard the attitude is everything.  Attitude may not be everything, but it sure is the genesis for all major success.  If you have an attitude that, “I will try,” you are saying that you are not committed to your dream.  If you are not committed, you WILL fail.  A committed person will press on come hell or high water!

So, stop trying!  Develop and attitude of a doer and pursue your dream, overcome the obstacles until your dream (goal) becomes a reality.  Don’t try harder, stop trying altogether and start doing! Just do it!

Note:  The difference between a dream and a goal is simple.  A dream is in your head and heart.  A goal is a dream that has been written down, recorded on paper. To have a dream is wonderful, but to have a goal is better!

The Power to Grow

Man has the inherent power to grow in any direction that he CHOOSES and as far as I can tell, there is NO LIMIT to the possibilities of his growth.  Think about that statement!  Only man has the power to grow as he chooses!  A dog can be trained to respond to stimuli as many other animals can, but only man can grow and this growth takes place primarily in his mind.

Though man (I include women in that statement), can grow to become more, they often just grow old due to lack of education regarding the proper use of the mind or just plain laziness.  This to me is very sad.   What a waste to stop growing in the high school and college years and then waste the rest of ones life just being blown around by life’s circumstances.

How can you grow?  You grow by dreaming.  Become a child again and dream your biggest dream.  Dream daily and dream often.  You also grow by reading and educating yourself.  You grow by seeking for more instead of settling for “what is.”  I am a grower.  I have grown so much since being involved in network marketing.  I read, read, read!  I get involved on team calls and get educated and I work on self-improvement all the time.  I make the best investment that can be made: The investment in myself!  By investing in myself, I gain the ability to invest in others.

You, yes you, have to power to GROW.  You can choose the direction that you want to take your life.  You can be who and what you want to be.  You CAN!  Don’t settle for what life throws your way.  Decide what you want and who you want to become.  Then do what is necessary to achieve the goals you have set.

Dreams and Determination

Joseph was a 11^th of 12 sons born to his father.  One day he had a dream and dreamed that his father, mother, and brothers would all bow down to him one day.  Well, needless to day, that offended his family, especially his brothers.   How would you react?

Over time his brothers had an opportunity to sell Joseph to some nomads who eventually sold him to a man in Egypt.   How could such a thing happen to a young man with such a high dream?

Eventually Joseph found favor in this man’s sight and he was placed over the Egyptian’s household.  However, the Egyptian’s wife had “a thing” for Joseph and wanted to have sex with him.  Joseph was honorable and refused.  As a result the lustful wife became angry and lied, saying that Joseph attempted to rape her. As a result his master became angry with Joseph and ended up putting him into prison.

Joseph eventually found favor with the warden of the prison and was put in charge of the prisoners.  One night two of his fellow prisoners had dreams and Joseph used his gift of interpreting dreams and told them the meaning of their dreams; both dreams came true just as interpreted by Jospeh.  One man was beheaded and the other was released and returned to his position as the King’s cupbearer. 

So far, we see a “dreamer.”  Joseph was a man with a dream of greatness, who only seemed to experience one bout of “bad luck” after another.  I bet he was wondering if HIS dream would ever become a reality.  He had a high and lofty dream but ended up being sold to a foreign land (because of envy) and eventually ended up in prison due to a false witness against him.  What a bummer!  Even with such events, Joseph always found favor with someone while in his seemly “bad” situation.

Well, the day came when the King of that country had a dream and no one was able to interpret it.  It was then that one of his fellow prisoners, who was released, told the King of a man named Joseph and his ability to interpret dreams.  The King sent for Joseph who accurately interpreted his dream.  The dream and its interpretation was so important that it saved a nation and also saved Joseph’s family, who eventually ended up bowing down to him.  Joseph’s dream became a reality!

The story I just wrote about is true and it portrays what you will have to go through in the pursuit of YOUR dream.  You will tell others of your dream and they will become jealous and mocking.  This normally comes from family members; who mean well, but KNOW that you can’t make it because none of them ever did.  They will call you crazy and tell you to give it up!

Then you may be lied about and put into what feels like a prison (isolation).  Isolation, because you are on your own, fighting for what you determined to have in life.  You are not average; you are determined to be above average.  As a result you will find favor, as Joseph did, along the way.

Though, in this prison, you help others achieve their dreams, who might reach theirs before you do because of your help.  You get discouraged because it just doesn’t seem to be happening for YOU.

Then the day comes when one of those folks, who you helped realize THEIR dreams, refers you to someone who will change you life forever and, what seems like overnight, you dream becomes a reality. 

Well, my friend, this is just the way success works.  It is not granted to the faint of heart.  It is the prize to those who determine to achieve what is in their heart.  The majority quit before they even get started.  Others quit just a day, week, month, or year before their dreams could have been realized.  But the determined “dreamer” WILL achieve their dreams if they do not lose heart.  This is the only way that it can be!

Friend, if you are reading this, I would bet that you are a determined dreamer.  I want you to know that your dreams will become a reality if you stay the course, help as many people as you can, and keep on keeping on.  I have no doubt that you will get what you are after.  The key is, do you doubt?  If you do, banish all doubt by thinking and speaking your desires into existence.  Focus on what you determine and don’t let anyone tell you that, “It can’t be done!”   The fact is, whatever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve. 

My final word to you is to keep the course.  Dream, dream big and dream often.  No matter what happens, know that your dreams will come true…if you are determined.  May God bless you and give you the determination to reach your goals.

 

The Path to Success is Like Having a Baby

The path of success can be likened to being pregnant.  You come to a point in your life that you conceive a dream and allow that dream to grow within you.  As it grows there is both excitement and limitation.  You are excited that what are carrying inside will come forth in birth.  You are limited that by having to be watchful as to what you consume and the environment in which you hang around.

When being pregnant with a dream, you cannot consume junk such as daily news and gossip, nor can you afford to hang around negative people.  That could lead to a pre-mature birth or even an abortion.    For a dream to come forth as a healthy reality, you must watch what comes into you mind.  You must only consume positive material and hang around people who support your success.  As for me, I am constantly reading great books and seeking the support of my wife and upline.  I listen to awesome training CD’s on self-improvement and seek wisdom from above.

The time just prior to the actual birth of your dream is the hardest.  That is the time when most people want to quit.  The pain is sometimes unbearable and you may feel, “What was I thinking; what I’m I doing?” or, “Will if live through this?”  But that is the time to “push.”  Before you know it that dream that was hidden within you will come forth for all to see and for you to enjoy for the rest of your life.  Heck, you may even what to give birth to many more dreams!  

Goals: It's the Journey That Makes the Difference

Have you ever wondered what is more valuable?  Is it reaching your goals or your journey to get there? 

I have pondered this question and here is what I think:  It is the journey that holds the greater value.  Let’s take the journey out of the equation.  Let’s say you desire something and it just manifests itself in your life.  What kind of a person would you be?  What kind of world would we live in?  I dread to think of it.  I guess that’s why most lottery winners end up with tragic lives.  They missed the journey and it is the journey that would have made the difference in the outcome of their lives.

It is the journey that makes the person.  It is the journey that changes lives.  It is the journey that transforms a person from being average to enjoy stratospheric success. 

What is a goal?  It’s the termination point; it’s the end toward which effort is directed.  One may have a goal for total financial freedom and the time to enjoy the things in life that he or she desires.  However, it’s the struggle along the way that makes it possible to achieve those goals.  It’s the person you BECOME that makes it possible to live a successful life. 

None of us start out successful, living the dream.  Success requires a price and one must be willing to pay that price to achieve the reality of their dreams.  If this were not so, everyone would be totally successful and living awesome lives. 

We were all given a mind, will, feelings, spirit, and a body to use during our earthly journey.  It is what we do with these assets that counts.  Most people just go through their entire lives like ships without a rudder.  They are totally affected by the stimuli in their environment and that’s what shapes their lives.  They don’t shape their lives; they allow others to determine their outcome.

However, the ones who refuse to let others tell them what to think and go against the tide toward a worthwhile goal; these encounter all kinds of obstacles.  It’s almost as though invisible forces where doing their best to block the path of success.  Are these “forces” blocking the path or are they “testing” ones worthiness.  I believe it is the later.

We have a dream, begin advancing toward its reality; then it happens; family, friends, and the environment rise up to frustrate, depress, and rob us of the mindset to achieve our desires.  We labor so hard and nothing SEEMS to happen.  We sow, but where is the reaping?  We labor, but where is the fruit?  Those around us laugh saying, “He will never make it; he is a dreamer!”  “That won’t work!”  “You are wasting your time, just come with us and have some fun.”  At times, the “dreamer” just wants to quit.  However, they remember that seeds only produce harvest in due TIME.  They remember the great ones like Thomas Edison, Napoleon Hill, Abraham Lincoln, Henry Ford, Jim Rohn, Zig Zigar, Tom Hopkins, Tony Robbins, and others. They remember that reaping will come to the one who does not faint in his or her efforts.   Based on what others have done, they realize that they must press on regardless of the ILLUSION of defeat around them.

Where does all this realization come from?  It comes from reading excellent books about success and successful people.  It comes by listening to CD’s and watching DVD’s on self improvement.  It comes through prayer and fellowship with God, the creator of all.  It comes through working toward your goal when others are watching TV, playing video games, window shopping, and other wastes of time.  While others are having “fun” you are doing the greatest work:  Working on YOU.  You are learning, changing, growing and advancing toward something others only wish they could have or do.

It is during this PROCESS that things happen.  They don’t happen all at once, they are not big happenings, but small ones.  However, all these small things add up over time and before you know it, you changed, you are different, you are better, and you have become something that you were not before.  You find yourself filled with wisdom and are source of blessing to others.  Eventually you experience little successes that lead to bigger successes.  Then one day, it happens, you look around and you are there.  You have reached your goal only to decide to reach for further goals.  And guess what?  The new goals that you set seem to come easier and faster.  You found the secret to success and success seems to cascade toward you in expected and unexpected ways. 

What made you successful?  Reaching the goal or the journey toward that goal?  I think that it was the journey.  It’s the journey that made all the difference.  Press on, dear friend; press on!  The reality of your dreams could be just around the corner.  I believe in you!

 

 

 

 

 

Success Starts on the Inside

Most people have it all wrong. They try to copy what others do and expect to get the same results. That may work for a short time, but true success starts on the inside. I teach people that outward doings will not produce lasting results. The first thing we have to do to gain lasting success is change our way of thinking.

It is said that we become what we think about. Our thoughts need to change. When they do, our world will change with them. One of the most powerful ways to change is the stop allowing the negative influences from without penetrate our mind. If you are a news junkie, you are in big trouble. I seldom hear good news on TV or the radio. CNN should be call, "Constant Negative News."

I hate listening to news or reading anything negative. Though this "bad news" may be a reality for others, it does not have to be for you. If you allow the garbage of the world to get into your thoughts you will live out the same. The trash that gets into our minds will come out of our mouth. When that happens, creation takes place. As we speak negative things we create for ourselves a negative world and thus end up with a less then desirable life.

How do you achieve success? Keep yourself positive. Invest in YOU. Read positive books everyday...yes everyday! Develop a good and healthy self-talk. Have you ever listened to the way to talk to yourself? If not, take a few days and listen. You will be surprised. No wonder success escapes so many. They talk themselves down and speak things into being by their demeaning self-talk. Change your inward talk and you will change your life. One of the best ways to do this is, like I said, invest in YOU. Purchase good books and audio programs. Shut off the radio in your car. Skip the news; you don't need it. Lose the newspaper and steer clear of gossip.
