Ideas to Action

Napoleon Hill said, “What the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”  I would like to take the time to break this quote down for all to understand.

“What the mind can conceive,” is a most precious statement.   It is a fact that our human mind has the ability to conceive an idea.  It is through ideas that great things happen.  Thomas Edison had an idea about a light bulb.  Henry Ford had an idea about mass-producing the automobile.  Abraham Lincoln had the idea of abolishing slavery.  Our founding fathers had an idea of a constitution that would be the foundation of one of the greatest and most powerful countries on earth.  Every success, great or small, came from an idea that was birthed in the mind.

An idea is great, but it is necessary to take the next step, “believe.”  Belief is necessary for the idea to be fueled with passion.  Belief in an idea makes us passionate and causes us to get excited about the possibilities and even the certainty of the workability of the idea we conceived in our mind.  Without belief an idea will die as fast as it was birthed.

Belief comes by holding the conceived thought in our mind constantly.  We think about the idea and even see it in our minds eye as already ours.  We think about it, we talk about it; we dream about it until a red-hot belief that it is ours overcomes our 5 senses. WOW!

Now comes the challenge…”Achieve.”  We have to achieve and achievement comes by taking action!  It is not good enough to conceive and idea and just believe it.  We have to achieve it through action.  As you dwell upon your idea and it comes the predominate thought in your mind, you will be prompted from within with thoughts of actions that you can take to bring that idea into reality.  Some of these promptings may seem ridiculous, but do not ignore them for each action will pave the way for more action that will eventually lead to the reality of your conceived idea.

The Bible says that, “Faith without works is dead.”  You can have an idea and believe that you will realize that idea.  However, without action, nothing will happen.  When Jesus healed the man with the withered hand he asked him to take action by stretching forth his hand.  The man who had the withered hand had the faith to take the ACTION and thus received the healing.  This was true of all such events in the Bible.  Faith requires some kind of action.

Most people, especially of the Law of Attraction persuasion, miss this point.  You may condition your mind to focus on what you want, but without action, what you want will not come to you.  As you focus on what you want, you will receive inward promptings to take certain actions.  Again, do not ignore this.  Taking action solidifies your belief  and causes the things you want to appear in you life.  The process is simple:

·      Think with your mind

·      Ideas will be conceived

·      Focus on that idea until you believe that it is already yours

·      Take action based on the inner promptings

·      Each action will lead to further actions until your idea becomes a reality

If you want to experience one of Mr. Hill’s greatest teachings, learn to take action!

Act or Be Acted Upon!

Our quality of our life depends on our actions.  If we take no action, we will be acted upon.  If you don’t shape your life, someone else will!

Our environment and everyone in it is EAGER to act upon you and determine your destiny.  From our birth we were acted upon, shaped and molded into what we are today.  This is true for most of us.  However, there are some who have taken matters into their own hands and acted in such a way that they have control of their destiny.  They are in the drivers seat—no one else!

God gave us a mind to think, a will to make decisions, emotions to help us determine if we are on course, and a spirit to know Him.  However most never make use of their God-given faculties.  They never think; they react to environmental stimuli.  They make decisions based on what others think, while all the time, their feelings are telling them they are off course.  They fail to know God because of ignorance of their spirit and its function.   They are totally out of control of their destiny.  Like a ship without a rudder they sail through life never reaching their CHOSEN port-of-call.

Don’t let persons or things act upon you and chose for you.  Take action.  Learn to be a critical thinker.  Take time to think about your life, future, dreams, and destiny.  Chose to be great, to become more and to contribute to the world around you.  Pay attention to your emotions.  If you are feeling bad, that just means you are off course.  Change your thoughts and your feelings will begin to change.  If you are feeling good, that means you are thinking properly and moving toward you destiny of CHOICE.  And attempt to know God.  God is Spirit.  He gave us a spirit to communicate with us that we may know Him and His will for our lives.  He knows all things, so don’t you think that it’s a good idea to KNOW Him?  Seek Him and you will find Him.

You have a choice.  Act or be acted upon.  I hope that you chose to act.  Take action to make your life meaningful and full of joy.  I wish you the best!

Practice Makes Progress

Practice is the ACTUAL application or use of an idea, belief, or method apposed to theories about such an application.

I see people all the time who talk about what they want.  How they are going to make it big and be rich “someday.”  The problem is that all they do is TALK.  It never goes beyond that.  Where is the ACTION!

Are you a big talker or do you practice being wealthy.  What I mean by that is are you taking daily action to become wealthy.  Every day I do things to become wealthy.  I blog with the desire to help others grow in their understanding of network marketing and success in general.  I watch my Mind Movie several times a day, envisioning myself with financial freedom and enough wealth to have what I want in life as well as plenty to give to others.  I read books, listen to special trainings about the industry and do lots of research on how to market effectively.  That is just the tip of the iceberg.   Each day I practice something that will usher me closer to my goals.  I realize that PRACTICE makes PROGRESS.

Every positive practice IS progress.  It might not seem like anything is happening right now, but if you are practicing, I can assure you that you are making progress.  Thomas Edison, whom I mention all the time because he is such a great example, practiced finding a way to succeed in his invention of the light bulb.  He practiced over 10,000 experiments before he was successful.  Each attempt led his closer to his goal.  I don’t know how long it took him, but it sure didn’t happen overnight.  It took days, weeks, and months of practice to get to his destiny.

Tiger Woods is another example.  He didn’t wake up one morning as a world-class golfer.  He practiced from a very young age, and all that practice added up to make him one of the greatest golfers of all time.  His reality was that practice made progress.

What are you doing to progress?  Are you reading, listening, learning, sowing, and growing?  Or are you wasting time watching TV, playing video games, attending party after party, or just plain goofing off?  If the latter is you case, you are not progressing; you are dying!

Remember this excellent phrase, “Practice makes Progress.”  It just could change your life!

A Call to Action

The ultimate test of faith is action.  Faith is the substance of things you HOPE for and the EVIDENCE of the things you do not see.  However faith by itself will not result in anything.  Faith requires action.

Many people claim to have the faith necessary to see their dreams become a reality, but never take consistent action to see the unseen become a reality.  When you have faith that what you desire will become your reality you will be required to take some action.

The Bible speaks of 4 men who wanted to see their lame friend healed.  They didn’t just believe.  They took action!  Actually, the action they took was crazy!  You see, the house where Jesus was staying was so crowded that there was no way for these men to get their friend to Him the conventional way.  So they lifted their friend to the rooftop and took a portion of the roof out and lowered their friend before Jesus.  The Bible then says that Jesus SAW their faith.  What did the Lord see?  ACTION!  He saw faith in action!  Based on their faith in action, Jesus healed the lame man.

The same applies to anything where faith is required.  You may have faith to become financially independent through your network marketing business, but without action, it most likely will not happen.  You need to take steps every day to see your dreams solidify.  In past articles, I refer to this action as the sleight edge.  Do something to demonstrate your faith day by day and eventually you will reach your dream.  It’s the little steps that add up to the big event.

Don’t fall for all the hype presented on the Internet today. If someone tells you that you can replace your income in 90 days, RUN!  Unless you are making $100 a month, that is. There are no automatic cash cows, at least in the beginning.  The income will be automatic, but only after applied faith, that is, action taken day by day until you get to the point that cash flows automatically with little or no effort.   That realistically will take 3-5 years, or more, depending on the action you take every day.

Do you have faith in something unseen?  If so, go to work; demonstrate your faith through works until you have the things you hope for.
