The Elevator or the Shaft?

There are so many “free” offers out there.  Offers for “free” eBooks, audios, and such are being promoted every single day.  Here is the problem: Are you getting the Elevator or the Shaft?

Let’s start with the SHAFT.  You know you are getting the shaft when you are offered something for free and you end up only getting only part of the promised help.  They put a price tag on the “rest of the story.”  The information you get for free entices you enough to download the information so you will have to cough up the big bucks later.  It is a tactic to get your information and then get you to buy something to line “their” products.

So many people are out their seeking genuine help.  They are looking for someone who will genuinely offer some training to help them build THEIR business.  Most of these folks has spend all their money because they got the shaft, not just once, in most cases but several times.

Rarely will you get the ELEVATOR; something that will help you get to the top without motive or agenda.  Do you know how RARE that is?  I personally looked for years and in the process got beat up and bruised.  I burned through thousands of dollars and was about to reach the end of my rope.  It was at that time I found Mentoring for Free.  This program offered me more FREE training than I could handle.  To this day I can’t believe that the folks at Mentoring for Free offer such training for FREE!  After years of getting the shaft, I finally got an elevator.

What's Your Number

You know you are that you are not making as much money as you could in an opportunity when:

·      When the company uses celebrity endorsements

·      When the company is publically held

·      When the company boasts of fancy headquartersWhen the company owns corporate jets

·      When the company supports a huge call center

·      When the company has a huge employee payroll

All the above items cost money.  Guess who pays for all of this stuff?  The distributor or affiliate!  No, you say, the company does!  No, I say, you do!  Whatever the company spends money on, that money is coming out of the pay plan, it’s that simple.

Celebrities do not do endorsements for free.  It costs money, big money, and that money eventually affects the pay plan.  Publically held companies have stockholders to pay and guess where that money comes from?  You guessed it, the pay plan.  Everything else in the list above is pretty self-explanatory. 

The best company to join is a company that has a streamline business model.  A company that uses technology to keep costs down and affiliate pay plans high.  One way to determine if your company, or a company you are considering is streamline, ask the $10,000 question:  “How many people will I have to have in my organization to make $10,000 a month?”  That is a very fair question to ask and it is surprising how many do not know that answer.  I bet if you asked your sponsor, they would not know. 

When I asked my sponsor how many people I would need in my down line, she answered me immediately.  She told me about 350 people.  That blew me away.  Most plans that I looked at were in the 2,500 range!  Later I found out that her sponsor did it with only 253 people!  That was a mind blower!   Getting 350 people in an organization is a lot easier than 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 or more.

I am boasting so you will join my company.  I am educating you to ask the question.  You need to know your number.  It is important to have a target to aim at or an idea what it is going to take to gain what you desire in network marketing.  You may not need $10,000 a month, but just think how much easier it would be to make an extra $1,000 or $2,000 a month by being involved with a streamline company.

I have been in network marketing for years and see people working their tail off and having little or nothing to show for it.  Find, what I call, a 5-pillar company, and you will have a better chance of fulfilling your dreams.  If you would like to learn more about what to look for in a five pillar company, please contact me and I will send you a audio file on that topic.  The audio is generic and mentions NO companies.

Own Your Own Business

I would strongly encourage anyone to take the opportunity, in these economic times, to strike out on his or her own.  Start your OWN business.

The great thing is that you can start a great business for as little as $200.  The bad thing is that there are too many choices out there and most of them are not really good opportunities.  If you want to start a home-based business, do your homework.  Get educated.  If you have a home-based business that is going nowhere fast, get educated!  Find the help you need and learn from those who ARE successful.  If one person can be successful doing a thing, anyone can provided the system they are using is duplicatable.

There are too many scams out there and more are being born everyday.  I hate seeing people spend countless thousands of dollars making someone else rich and become discouraged and even quiting in the process.  That makes me both sick and mad!

MLM Starts with YOU!

Most of us start out the same way.  We have big dreams, goals, aspirations and want to make it big in network marketing.  We buy into an opportunity and start advertising.  We buy leads, do social networking, write blogs, get on traffic exchanges, and anything else that we can think of to get traffic and gain affiliates.  Most of us even have a good heart; we want to help others succeed.

We work so hard on our businesses, yet we forgot the most important thing: YOU.  MLM starts with YOU.  YOU need perfecting.  YOU need knowledge of people and the business.  YOU need to be cleansed of all the negative attitudes that have been developing from you childhood and are still haunting you today.  You may think you are okay, but I will go out on a limb here and say that there is probably plenty of limiting beliefs that are holding you back from your success.

Jesus told the religious Pharisees who focused on appearances to cleanse the INSIDE of the cup and platter and the outside will be clean also.  Too often we get trapped by focusing on or paying attention to the results that we desire that we fail to pay attention to what really matters:  the inside of YOU.  How do you THINK?  Do you know that your thoughts produce you living?  I see people struggle to change their outward circumstances, but are unaware that those circumstances were produces by thoughts and deep-seated limiting beliefs.

Successful network marketers have discovered that the true secret to success is improvement of THEM.  They spend a lot of time working on their thought and beliefs.  This is not an easy task.  Take me for example; it took me over 50 years to get like I am know with all those limiting beliefs in tow.  It is going to take some time to discover and train my mind to think in new ways in order to form new and empowering beliefs.

The Bible says that faith comes by hearing.  We need a lot of hearing by dedicating DAILY time to reading life-changing books and listening to empowering programs, speeches, sermons, and the like to expose old believes and overwrite them with new ones.  If you do not do this, you can work day an night on your business and continue to go nowhere fast. 

I used to hate to read.  I know am surrounded by excellent books and read every day.  I listen to excellent CD programs put our by some of the greatest authors and personal development trainers of all-time.  Of course, I send lots of time with the Architect of the Universe and Creator of all mankind.  Since God designed us, it only makes sense to hand around Him!

Personal development is paramount to success in MLM.  So now you can see why I believe, in the beginning YOU.  You need to spend ample time on YOU everyday.  When you do, your outward circumstances will change to reflect your new inward realities. I will warn you; this is not easy and it will take time.  Just be patient, do a little every day and you will see how rewarding working on YOU can be.

Now get to work.  Remember, in the beginning, YOU.  Work on YOU until you are the YOU that you desire to be.  When you do, success will manifest itself in untold ways!

MLM is Like Seed Time and Harvest

Network marketing is a  lot like planting seed and harvesting.  You cultivate the land, plant the seed, and go out the very next day and reap the harvest; right?  It would be silly to think that you can sow a crop and expect a harvest so soon, wouldn't it?  Well, network marketing is the same.

There are numerous advertisements on the internet promising a quick "harvest."  All of them can be refuted.  Remember, if it's too good to be true; it probably is.  Don't fall for the get-rich-quick scams perpetrated on the internet.  Riches just don't come that easily.  Success must be EARNED.  Anything of value takes time.  There are laws at play here.

A law that keeps me going is the law of sowing and reaping.  The Bible says that we will sow what we reap and urges one not to get tired in doing good, for at the proper time (in due season) we WILL reap if we do not give up.  Zig Ziglar says it another way, "You can have anything in life that you want if you just help enough other people get what they want."  This is a law.  It is as certain and powerful as the law of gravity.

The key to success is to keep sowing.  Not everyone you sow into will produce a harvest, but you only need a few to become really successful.  You may share your business with some; they will get excited and say they are ready to join.  Then they make a huge mistake.  They they go talk to a family member(s) and that good meaning family member(s) will take what you have sow and kill it.  This happens all the time, so don't get discouraged when it does.  

You will sow into some and they will join, but do nothing because they are consumed with the affairs of their daily life.  Video games, TV shows, baseball and the like are more important to them then taking a few years to change their life forever.  They don't realize that they will have to "work" to achieve success and will quickly disappear because of these other occupations and their welfare mentality.

However, there will be some who will mean business, be a team player, and grow their organization like crazy.  The key thing to remember is this:  No matter how good someone is, it will still take time for them to produce a harvest.

Consider a tomato, from seed time to harvest is about 4 months.  Corn is about the same.  An apple tree is much longer; several years.  So don't grow impatient and give up.  Just sow, cultivate and wait for the harvest.

In every case, the harvest is not up to you.  The growth of corn is not up to the planter.  It's up to certain laws that are in place.  However, your chances of getting a harvest are in direct proportion to the amount of sowing and cultivating you do.  Cultivating, in network marketing terms, simply means to build relationships and educate.  Once you find some "good ground" invest in them and everyone involved will win and win big.

The harvest you seek WILL TAKE TIME.  I get calls all the time by desperate network marketers that need CPR.  They tell me that they need their business to make money right away.  They have been working their businesses for months or even years, spending hundreds and thousands of dollars in worthless advertising.  Their finances are depleted and they need a miracle.  Believe me, I believe in miracles, but it's better to follow the proper laws of network marketing than to need a miracle.  These folks, that need CPR, were casting their seeds onto concrete.  They were sowing in places where nothing would ever grow.  

I don't blame them.  they were told to buy leads, place solo ads and other forms of paid advertisements.  However, let me tell you, buying leads is almost worthless.  I can train people to get targeted traffic without buying tons of worthless leads.  That's what I train my affiliates to do and it works very well. 

Here's what I know.  A successful network marketing organization will take 2-5 years to build, and maybe longer, depending you your income desires.  If you are not willing to spend that kind of time; keep you job and forget this wonderful profession.  Oh yes, you can always try the lottery!

In closing remember, there are certain laws at play in network marketing.  Just be faithful to sow, cultivate and expect your harvest.  When it comes it will come, by all means, out of proportion to what you've sown.  To illustrate, if you sow a grain of corn, do you only get one grain back?  NO!, you get many times more than you sowed.  However, this only comes in due season.
